A rumoured target for Hearts of Oak, Great Olympic’s 30-year-old captain Gladson Awako remained tight-lipped about his next destination while admitting a transfer from the Dade Boys seemed inevitable.
Reports in the media in recent weeks has indicated that the U-20 World Cup winner will after the season join the Phobians as they aim to make an impact in Africa should they clinch the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title.
However, the 30-year-old couldn’t confirm or deny the rumours linking with a move away from Olympics as he opened up on the speculations.
“At the moment, I have a contract with Great Olympics so I don’t want to talk about any other club. When I am done with my contract and if I am to talk to any club, I will do that,” he said in an interview with Silver FM.
“Hearts is a big club, we have big clubs here in the country and if we finish the season and clubs like Hearts, Kotoko and all these big clubs say they want you, it means you’ve done a good job so if they should come and I feel it will help me, why not?” he quizzed.
Awako is incontestably one of the standout players for Great Olympics. With two matches to go in the 2020/2021 Premier League, he will be bent on helping the Dade Boys to earn a top-four finish.
The former TP Mazember midfielder has netted 6 goals so far in the league, assisting 5 and has won 5 MVP awards.
