Black Stars head coach James Kwasi Appiah has handed Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong a starting role in his stating XI against Mauritania in an international friendly match at the Accra sports stadium this evening.
Kwasi Appiah named Kotoko trio Amos Frimpong, Kwame Bonsu and goalkeeper Felix Annan in his 24-man squad for the last group match of the AFCON 2019 qualifier against Kenya last Saturday and for the friendly match against Mauritania, but none of the three got the chance to wear the Ghana shirt in the 1-0 win over Kenya which saw Ghana finish top of group F.
Amos starts at the right side of defence while Lumor Agbenyenu operates from the left side of defence with Nicholas Opoku and Joseph Aidoo playing as centre backs.
Sochaux’s Lawrence Ati Zigi starts in goal ahead of Kotoko’s Felix Annan who still awaits his time to make his debut for the Black Stars.
