Former Black Stars player Sam (Foyoo) Johnson has urged all Ghanaians to have confidence the Black Stars team at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt ahead of their group F second match against Cameroon today, saying the Indomitable Lions, despite winning the previous AFCON two years ago, are scared of Ghana.
The former Ghana national was speaking to FOX Sports Talk today ahead of Ghana’s crucial match against Cameroon and believes Ghana have still got the talent to silence the five times champions of Africa, urging Ghanaians to massively support the nation’s fearsome eleven that would be chosen to face the Lions.
“It cannot be an easy match but the way we are now belittling ourselves I don’t think it’s good for us”, Sam told Fox Sports Talk. “Upon all the best players they have, they are scared of us, but we have seen our players for so many times and are fed up with them, so we don’t any faith in them but we should go back (and refer to the past) that they are good players, all they need from us is to support them”, Sam stated.
According to Sam, even during the golden days of Cameroon the Black Stars went to beat them with a convincing 3-1 in Duala, so matches involving Ghana and Cameroon do not necessarily tilt towards the Lions.
