Asante Kotoko have officially announced release of five first team players as the club begins to trim down the squad to a sizeable figure ahead of their Champions League campaign starting August 9.

“We have put the following players on transfer; Obed Owusu, Dany Zabo Teguy, Umar Basiru, Stephen Nyarko, Daniel Nii Agyei. We thank them for their services and wish them all the best in their future endeavours”, the club announced via its official twitter account.
Ivorian striker Zabo completed his move to Kotoko in January on a transfer deadline day under the the coach CK Akonnor and was registered for the CAF Confederation Cup campaign last season where he featured in few games for the Porcupine Warriors. He joined Kotoko on a free transfer on a three years deal after ending his contract with Swaziland club Manzini FC but has since failed to impress, hence the termination of his contract.
