Kumasi Asante Kotoko have begun preparations for the upcoming CAF Champions league campaign without want away forward Sogne Yacouba in mind as the Burkinabe import is available on sale to the highest bidder – CEO George Amoako has said.
The Porcupine Warriors resumed training ahead of the new season under the newly appointed coach Kjetil Zachariassen, but the unsettled forward Yacouba is still in his hometown in Burkina Faso with no signs of returning to the club to which he remains contracted. Addressing the media at the Ashanti Regional Circles Congress on Saturday, CEO George Amoako told the numerous supporters of the club to forget about Yacouba as he revealed that the club is building a team without him and will sell the striker for any good offer that arrives.
“Beloved take your mind off Yacouba, beloved take your mind off Yacouba and let’s move forward”, George Amoako told the press. “We’ve arranged things in such a way that we would not need Yacouba, Yacouba is on sale, Yacouba cannot help us so we are selling him, he is part of the players we would be selling soon so he is about to go”, he insisted.
According to George Amoako, Kotoko is building a team without Sogne Yacouba and that the talented goal poacher would be allowed to leave for the right offer.
“If they pay the right price we will allow him to go, so we are building our team and all preparations without Yacouba so take your mind off him, those who will play have come, men of stamina, they’ll play for us to benefit from them”, George Amoako stated.
Speaking to the media at Adako Jachie training grounds recently, new coach Zachariassen said he does not want to comment on Sogne Yacouba and insisted he does not remember hearing from the contract rebellion striker.
“I have the last details about him (Yacouba)”, Zachariassen told the press. Asked if Yacouba is part of his plans, Zachariassen refused to comment. “I cannot comment on that”, he said.
In Yacouba’s absence, Asante Kotoko have made additions including George Abege from Kariobangi Sharks of Kenya, Moussa Adingra from Lobi Stars among others in front of goal.
