Ghana Premier League side Karela United have denied agreeing a deal with Asante Kotoko for the transfer of defender Patrick Yeboah to the Baba Yara stadium side.
Asante Kotoko are currently close to completing negotiations with the Aiyinase based premiership outfit ahead of a deal that will see the enterprising left back pen a three years deal for Kotoko, but the deal is not concluded and therefore the player is yet to sign any documents with the Porcupine Warriors.
Several reports in the local media have carried the story as a breaking news, touting Yeboah to have signed a three years deal with Kotoko on Monday, but Karela United, though have confirmed negations between the two clubs is almost at its conclusive stage, a deal is yet be agreed to enable Patrick Yeboah to put pen to paper for Kotoko.
“We are in negotiations with them (Kotoko), that i can confirm to you, that we are in negotiations with them but we have not concluded so I cannot give you a concrete report that as the reports are saying we are done and its confirmed”, Eric Alagidede, Communications Director for Karela has told Fox FM. “If Karela is gets done with Kotoko then of course we can come back and tell you it’s done so Patrick is now joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko, but until then (nothing is done)”, he continued.
Alagidede however stated that the deal might be concluded by tomorrow or Wednesday.
“By tomorrow till maybe Wednesday I’m sure we would finish, I’m not the one leading the negotiations, another person is doing the negotiations for us so once they give us the green light that they’ve finished then we would confirm”, Alagidede hoped.
Asked of his role in the release of the player in question, Alagidede revealed that he would be the one to sign the player’s release letter but he’s not been prompted by the club or otherwise to issue any release letter to that effect and so they are just in the negotiations stage.
“Of course I will definitely sign the release letter, if we are done I will be in the known because I will be prompted to give the release, and I’ve not been prompted to give any release letter, so as at now I can only tell you that we are in negotiation”, he clarified.
Asante Kotoko have made a swift move to sign Yeboah from Karela after a move for Medeama’s Bright Enchil fell through.
