Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu suffered a similar cruciate ligament injury and was recently flown to Germany where he underwent a successful surgery before flying back home, but according to Ganiu, the doctors have informed him that his injury “is more severe” than that of his teammate Senanu.

“Mine is different but mine is more severe than that of Senanu, that is what the doctors are saying”, he revealed.

Describing the severity of the injury, Abdul Ganiu said he feels extreme and unbearable pains in his knee and usually uses knee support to enable him walk “slow, slow, slow”. “I feel too much pains in my knee, I can’t even walk fast, I walk though but I feel much pains inside, if I will walk unless slow, slow, slow, else I can’t walk”, he cried out.

Asked whether he is put on any first aid medication pending the expected surgery, Ganiu answered in negative, adding, he was given pain killers which lasted for five days when he got injured and has since not been taking any medication.

“No, no, no, when I got injured they gave me some pain killers for five days , after the five days I’m not under drugs any more”, he said.

Meanwhile, he said he’s spoken to the team doctors who assured him they’ll talk to the club officials over his situation likewise his manager, who has also informed the club of his complains, but he is yet to hear from the club.
