Former Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has confirmed he is in advanced talks to join a new club after he left Turkish Super League side Kayserispor in August this year.
The former Sunderland, Al Ain, Shanghai SIPG striker has been heavily linked with a move to Indian top division side NorthEast United in a sensational career turnaround after Fox FM broke the news on Wednesday.
Asamoah Gyan, Ghana’s all time top scorer for the men’s senior national football team the Black Stars, confirmed the news in his address to the press on Wednesday evening after final match between Ofori Academy Foundation of Kumasi and Cheeta FC of the Baby Jet U-16 tournament in Accra.
“Yes we are in negotiations now, I’m on the verge of joining a new club but I can’t mention the name now, we are almost done”, Gyan confirmed to reporters after final match of the Baby Jet U-16 tournament, which is his own project.
Gyan is currently in Accra, Ghana attending to his personal businesses outside football, while negotiations are in the advanced stage for him to move to India to continue his glittering football career should the deal go as expected.
