The official draw for the group stage of the upcoming Total U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019, CAF has confirmed.
The draw for the tournament will be held at the Montaza Complex in Alexanria, Egypt at the Haramlek Palace at 15H00GMT.
All the eight (8) teams representing their respective countries are expected to be in attendance for the final draw to set the stage for the tournament which has been scheduled to span between 8-22 November this year.
The Egyptian capital city, Cairo will host all games with the Cairo International stadium and Al Salam stadium as venues for the matches.
The teams to finish first, second and third will at the final tournament will represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
The Black Meteors of Ghana booked their ticket at the tournament after defeating Algeria’s U-23 side 2-1 on aggregate over two legs, and will look forward to impress in Egypt to secure a ticket to the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan next year.
