The Black Stars B coach Maxwell Konadu has named a final 21-man squad for the 2019 WAFU tournament in Senegal which takes off today, Saturday, 29th September, 2019.
The Black Stars B will represent Ghana in the WAFU tournament as the defending champions of the competition, having won the 2017 edition as hosts. Coach Maxwell Konadu, after seven weeks of camping in the Ashanti region, Kumasi to prepare for the tournament as well as the qualifiers to the 2020 CHAN tournament in Cameroon, has named his squad with players drawn mainly from Asante Kotoko, Ashantigold SC and Hearts of Oak.
Konadu’s final squad is made of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders and four strikers.
Out of the 21 players called up, seven of them, Felix Annan, Patrick Yeboah, Habib Mohammed, Justice Blay, Augustine Okrah, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Richard Arthur are currently part of Asante Kotoko 18 players in Monastir, Tunisia to play against Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the Champions League final preliminary qualifiers second leg. They will join the team in Senegal on Monday, 30th September, 2019.
Ashantigold SC quartet, James Akaminko, Latif Anabila, Shafiu Mumuni and Appiah McCarthy are all part of the the squad and will join the Black Stars B team in Senegal on tomorrow after their Confederation Cup qualifiers second leg against RS Berkane in Morocco tonight.

Goalkeepers (3): Felix Annan, Eric Ofori Antwi and Isaac Hagan
Defenders (7): Fatawu Mohammed, Issaka Mohammed, Yussif Ouattara, Moro Ibrahim, Mohammed Alhassan, Patrick Yeboah, Habib Mohammed
Midfielders (7): Benjamin Afutu, James Akominko, Latif Anabila, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Augustine Okrah, Appiah McCarthy, Justice Blay
Strikers (4): Prince Opoku Agyemang, Joseph Esso, Richard Arthur, Shafiu Mununi.
The team leaves Kumasi today to Accra before flying to Senegal tomorrow. Ghana’s first match against Gambia, which was initially slated for tomorrow, has been postponed to Tuesday, 1st October, 2019 and coach Maxwell Konadu will look forward to welcoming his stars from Ashgold and Kotoko camp safely before kick off on Tuesday.
