The Black Meteors of Ghana will know their opponents for the CAF Total U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2019 when the draw for the final tournament is held tonight at the Haramlek Palace in the Iconic Montaza Complex in Alexandria.
The event will see all the eight qualified teams, which include Egypt (hosts), Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa and Zambia will all know their opponents for the group stage of the final tournament at the draw today.
The event, which Ghana is being represented by Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko, will begin at 7:00pm local time (5:00pm GMT) to set the stage for the tournament which starts on the 8th to 22nd November this year.
Hosts Egypt and defending champions Nigeria have named as top seeds for the draw. Below is the component of the pots ahead of the draw:
Pot 1: Mali, South Africa
Pot 2: Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Zambia, Cameroon
Cairo, Egypt’s capital city will host all the games with matches played at the Cairo International Stadium and Al Salam Stadium.
The teams that will finish first, second and third in the final tournament will qualify to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
