Ghana Football Association (GFA) Delegates at the Extra Ordinary Congress of the FA on Friday, have accepted a proposal by the Normalization Committee to increase the number of clubs participating in the premier league from the usual 16 to 18 effective from the 2019/2020 season.
A total of 64 out of the expected 120 delegates voted in favour of the proposal to change the face of the domestic league.
The decision of Congress means division one sides Accra Great Olympics and Kumasi based King Faisal have returned to the premier league for the upcoming season.
In effect, five clubs will be relegated at the end of the season while three clubs would be promoted from the division one to the top flight football next season and the number of participating clubs will revert to the usual 16 for the following seasons.
