The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has, in an election held on Tuesday, elected Mr. Mark Addo as the Vice President of the GFA.
The elections held at the headquarters of the GFA in Accra conduction by the Electoral Commission of Ghana saw the Nzema Kotoko boss floored Ransford Abbey and Dr. Tony Aubynn to win the polls.
He
polled 6 votes to beat off stiff competition from his closest opponent Ransford
Abbey who also polled 4 votes, while Dr. Tony Aubynn managed to get just a
vote.
The
experienced football administrator will now assist the GFA President Kurt
Okraku to carry Ghana football to a level desirable by all followers of the
game not only in Ghana, but also in Africa and beyond.
He
expressed his gratitude to the Executive Council members for the confidence
posed in him and electing him to occupy the second highest seat of football
governance in the country.
“First
of all I have to thank my Executive Council members who had confidence and
voted for me, that’s the most important thing”, Mark Addo told reporters after
the election on Tuesday.
According
to him, his election is a beginning of service to God and country and he is
ready to support the ‘current president’ of the GFA.
“It’s
just a serve like I always say for God and country, and I have to thank them
for having the confidence to elect me to be the vice president to support our
current president”, he expressed.
