Agent of Asante Kotoko head coach Kjetil
Zachariassen, Mr. Charles Kouadio has insisted that his client is not ready to
bow to pressure from the management of Asante Kotoko and will NOT resign as
coach of the club.
According to Kouadio, Nana Gyambibi Coker,
Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Asante Kotoko Dr. Kwame Kyei,
has sent him a text message ordering coach Kjetil Zachariassen to resign as
coach of Asante Kotoko else the club will not be able to guarantee his safety
should he return to Ghana to continue his duties at the club.
This tactics by the management of the club,
especially the conduct of Nana Gyambibi Coker is provoking Mr. Kouadio and his
client Zachariassen and have threatened to explode if Coker incessantly pushes
them to the wall. Charles Kouadio and his client claim the management of Asante
Kotoko wants to put fear in the Norwegian trainer to resign, but those antics
will not under any circumstance make the coach to resign as his three years
contract with the club still runs.
“I repeat again, I repeat again (SIC),
Kjetil is not ready to resign and will not resign”, Charles Kouadio insisted in
an interview with Fox FM.
Kouadio further insisted that coach Kjetil
Zachariassen has three years contract with Kotoko and unless Kotoko sacks him,
he will not resign.
“He has a three years contract, he will not
resign, except Kotoko want to sack him there is no problem but he will not
resign, he wants to go back to his duty post”, Kouadio insisted.
All efforts to reach Nana Coker for his
side of the text message claims fell on rocks as all calls we made to reach him
were not answered.
For the records, Asante Kotoko returned to
Ghana after their Confederation Cup 0-2 loss to Ivorian side FC San Pedro
without their coach Kjetil Zachariassen, and was reported that the management
of the club asked him to stay back as the club cannot guarantee his security in
Ghana following the club’s exit from the continental competition.
