The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced its calendar for the commencement of the 2019/2020 football season with the various leagues set to start on Saturday, 21st December, 2019.
This include the elite division – the Ghana Premier League, the national Division One League and the Women Premier League. The season will start on December 21, 2019 and end in July 2020 after 35 weeks.
A statement signed by the Acting General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association Alex Asante on Wednesday read; “The Executive Council of Ghana Football Association has decided that the 2019/2020 league season will commence on Saturday, December 21, 2019”.
According to the schedules, registration of players and officials by the clubs started on 14th October, 2019 and will end on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 23:59GMT.
Submission of squad list by the clubs will be done on Monday, 16th December, 2019 and would be followed by the official launch of the league on Tuesday, 17th December before the season kicks start four days later.
There will be a GFA Ordinary Congress on Thursday, 12th December, 2019 where major decisions to be binding on all stakeholders of the game will be taken before the season starts.
The 2019/2020 football season will then officially start on the weekend of Saturday, 21st December, 2019 and end in July 2020.
