Foxfmonline.com can confirm that the Club Licensing Board have rejected Aduana Stars request seeking for provisional licence for current coach W. O. Tandoh to enable him sit on the bench for the club as head coach for the 2019/2020 premier league season.
Coach W. O. Tandoh, who serves presently as the head coach for premiership side Aduana Stars, holds a CAF Licence B coaching certificate which by legitimate requirement of the Club Licensing Board, only permits him to be an assistant coach of a premier league club. However, the Dormaa Ahenkro based side petitioned the Licensing Board to grant coach Tandoh the necessary provisional licence that will permit him to maintain his position as the head head coach of Aduana Stars through the new league season.
The two times league champions backed their request to authorities with certificate of participation, which certifies that coach W. O. Tandoh, a military officer, has taken the requisite CAF Licence A coaching course but is actually yet to sit for the final exams to enable him attain the licence A certificate. The club further argued, that the former physical trainer will sit for the licence A certificate exams by January 2020 and so pleaded the Licensing Board to allow him a fair amount of latitude.
On the contrary, the club licensing board has, on Thursday, formally informed Aduana Stars that they are unable to grant the club’s request and for that matter, must be prepared to hire a new head coach who holds the required CAF Licence A certificate to avoid any future problems.
Foxfmonline.com can exclusively confirm, that Aduana Stars have accepted the position of the Licensing Board and the search for a new head coach has entered the mode of expedition and the leading candidate to land the job is coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin.
Talks with the former Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Inter Allies manager have reached finishing level and it is 90% a done deal for him to be announced in the coming weeks.
The official announcement of Paa Kwesi has been delayed a little due to the fact that the club President, Oseadeeyo Nana Agyemang Badu II, the King of Dormaa is at the eve of celebrating his 20th Anniversary and organization among other matters has kept him extremely busy from meeting with Paa Kwesi to put finishing touches to the deal.
The management of Aduana Stars are done with their part as far as his appointment is concern and it’s now left with the financier to give the final approval of contract details before coach Paa Kwasi puts pen to paper.
It is expected that meeting happens sooner than later given that the 2019/2020 premier league season starts on December 2019 and Aduana Stars can’t afford to waiter much longer.
Officials of Aduana Stars want a coach who understands the tradition of Dormaa and the policies of the club and, more importantly, a coach who is specialised in youth development and Paa Kwesi Fabin, a former manager of the Ghana U-17 team, falls within these requirements.
