Accra Hearts of Oak acting head coach Edward Nii Odoom has kicked against claims that the club hot coaching job seat is bigger than him, making references to his track records in the coaching industry.
Odoom endured a bitter start to his interim head coach job after suffering a merciless 3-0 defeat to Tarkwa based Medeama Sporting Club in match day two of the premier league on Sunday at the Tarkwa Akoon Park.
The disappointing defeat coupled with the substandard performance of the team in general in the hands of the Yellow and Mauve has left fans of the club and some pundits questioning the ability of Odoom to lift the club to respectable position on the league log, and even helping the club to attain the long awaited 21st league title.
Speaking to the press after Hearts of Oak’s 3-0 defeat to Medeama on Sunday, Odoom insisted that he’s been coaching for the past three decades in Ghana now and that coaching the Phobians is never too much a task beyond him.
“I have coached for 30 years, I’ve coached (Real) Sportive, not now, am not new in the game, it’s not big more than me”, he maintained.
Hearts of Oak have gone without a win in the first two matches of the premier league and Odoom would have to bring all his experience in the coaching job help the club record their first win next Sunday against Ebusua Dwarfs in week three fixtures.
