Following the announcement by the Ghana Football Association(GFA) to make the Ghana Premier League (GPL) autonomous of the GFA, the Premier League clubs have nominated three persons as their representatives to serve on the yet-to-be born Autonomous Premier League Committee.
The elite division clubs selected, in a video conference meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020, Togbe Afede XIV, Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Mr. John Ansah, Operations Manager of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs Football Club, and Delali Senaye, CEO of Inter Allies Football Club.
This comes after the Executive Council of the GFA at its meeting on May 8, 2020 announced its decision to institute a five-member committee that will be tasked to come up with the modalities, processes and roadmap for the establishment of an autonomous (independent) Ghana Premier League.
The five-member committee, if completed, will comprise of the three representatives of the Premier league clubs and two other members to be nominated by the GFA. The Executive Council of the GFA is expected to settle on its two representatives to serve on the five-member committee at its next meeting to make the committee completed to start its mandate.
