The newly appointed CEO of premier league giants Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has described how he intends to use the platform of the Porcupine Warriors to promote the Ashanti Kingdom and one of his ultimate vision as assume office is to create an enabling environment around the club and Kumasi that will create jobs for youths in the region.
The former Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant was officially presented as the new CEO on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Sports Hotel, Kumasi, and has poured out his visions for the club and its numerous fans across the globe.
In his acceptance speech, the founder of Phar Rangers football club focused on creating economic benefits for all stakeholders and the youth of the Ashanti region through innovative means.
“It is time to roar to the world and prove that we have a great kingdom and that is the great Kotoko”, he described. “We will use this noble club to promote the rich culture and history of Asanti Kingdom. We will create jobs for the youth from Ashanti in particular”, he pledged.
As football and economy growth intertwine, Nana Amponsah further revealed plans to create an enabling environment capable of aiding businesses to grow and to make everyone in region have their share of the economic benefit, directly or indirectly.
“Asante Kotoko have a huge potential to create enabling environment for businesses to thrive; we all know what happens to food vendors in their food business when Kotoko lose matches. We will use Kotoko to significantly increase the food aspect of Ashanti Kingdom an attract diaphora investment into this territory”, he assured.
