Former Asante Kotoko star striker Songne Yacouba has completed a move to Young Africans, Tanzania’s greatest football club in history.
The Burkinabe international arrived in Tanzania on Monday to officially complete his move, and was immediately unveiled and handed his favourite jersey number 10.
The tough-to-handle striker (on the field) signed a two-year deal with the 22 times champions of the Tanzanian Premier League as a free agent, following his departure from Asante Kotoko upon expiration of his contract with the Ghanaian giants.
The arrival of the 28-year old Yacouba brings a partnership up front with Ghana’s Micheal Sarpong in attackfor the Jangwani based club in Dar es Salaam in the upcoming 2020/2021 league season.
Young Africans will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League, and the partnership between Yacouba and Sarpong is expected to prove fearsome to opponents in the continent’s flagship club competition.
