The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has dismissed the appeal filed by Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) regarding the GFA’s Elections Committee’s decision on October 4, 2019 against the Tema Youth FC President’s move to contest the FA’s elections.
Palmer was disqualified from the GFA presidential election race on October 4 last year by the vetting committee on grounds that, he failed to pay 10% of a transfer fee involving player Joseph Paintsil from Tema Youth FC to Ferencvárosi Torna Club.
On claims of injustice to him, Osei Palmer filed an appeal at the world sports court, CAS, seeking for a reverse of the decision after his earlier appeal filed through the GFA’s judicial process rejected his case.
After postponing the release of the hearing from July 17 to August 4 and finally to September 1, the CAS has now released its verdict and the GFA has emerged victorious.
