Football administrator and renowned broadcaster George Kuntu Blankson has been appointed as chairman of of the now inaugurated western regional branch of the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG).
The Western region’s branch of the SWAG was launched on Saturday at the Naakof Hotel in Takoradi. The occasion was graced by high powered personalities including Kwabena Yeboah, President of SWAG (national), Regional Minister Hon. Kobby Mensah, Hon. Wilson Arthur, President of Skyy FC and Chairman of the MTN sponsored Ghana FA Cup, Hon. Joseph Cudjoe, Deputy Minister for Energy and other top officials.
Seasoned journalist George Kuntu Blankson, who doubles as Chairman of the Shama District Football Association, has been appointed as chairman of the now instituted SWAG – Western region. Other top personalities appointed as executives of the association include Anthony Ekow Essilfie (Vice Chairman), historian, lecturer and top journalist Joseph Oti Asrifi Mensah as secretary, Stephen Kwame Yeboah, CEO of KY Media as Organizer, Mis Amy Fyn-Thompson, Chairperson of Western region’s Women’s Football Committee as Welfare officer of the association.
