Waiting Ashantigold are tired of the wait for Nana Ayemang Badu II, Aduana Stars patron’s approval of striker Yahaya Mohammed’s transfer to the Miners, and have thrown in the towel despite maintaining the hope that the High Court judge gives a positive response to their request.
The management of Ashantigold SC and that of Aduana Stars have agreed on Yahaya’s transfer to the Obuasi based premier league outfit, but the agreement is subject to the approval by Aduana Stars patron and owner, Nana Agyemang Badu II, King of the Dorma traditional area. For reasons unknown to the public nor Ashantigold, the King has been reticent to the Miners’ request and the Roberto Landi charges are being dragged in their preparations for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup competition in which they are Ghana’s sole representatives.
In an interview with ghanasportspage.com, Communications Manager of Ashantigold SC, Eric Karikari hinted that his outfit has had enough of the waiting following Nana Agyemang Badu’s reticence, and have begun preparations without Yahaya Mohammed in mind since time is not on their side. Despite insisting that the deal is not completely off, Eric believes that Aduana Stars are not willing to release the player and it’s about time Ashantigold moved on.
“For Yahaya (Mohammed’s) transfer I believe he who owns it holds the power. If the one holding it has not released it it’s difficult to collect it”, Eric said in pessimism.
“Yahaya feels that if Nana (Agyemang Badu) has not said anything he also can’t do anything on his own, and up to now too Nana has not given us any approval so, we’ve decided that well, if it works fine if not we will still move ahead. So for now, I won’t say it’s off completely but it’s still hanging up, but looking at the time too we also want to prepare our team and go, so we prepare without him (Yahaya) and still move forward”, he said.
