The summer transfer finally closed, the 32 qualified for the group stage of the Champions League have unveiled their list. Some big names remain on the tile.
The Champions League starts in a few days. And now that the summer transfer window is over, the 32 clubs qualified for the pool stage have unveiled their lists of qualified players. Paris SG, an unfortunate finalist in the last edition, for example, decided to leave out Juan Bernat, who recently had surgery on a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee, but also Jesé Rodriguez, who, with one year to go until the end of his contract, is not quite part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
All the recruits are there: Alexandre Letellier, Alessandro Florenzi, Danilo Pereira, Rafinha, Moise Kean. Olympique de Marseille, for its part, did not register Kosta Mitroglou, to whom it is still looking for a way out, but has relied on its recruits Luis Henrique, Michael Cuisance, Leonardo Balerdi, Pape Gueye and Yuto Nagatomo. In Rennes, Mbaye Niang, who was announced with insistence on the departure of AS Saint-Étienne, is present, as is the latest recruit Jérémy Doku, the long-term wounded Faitout Maouassa and the young Adrien Truffert.
Some pay for their choice mercato…
Elsewhere in Europe, some elements remain on the tile, like Marcos Alonso (Chelsea) or Smi Khedira Juventus .Manchester United have sidelined three internationals: defenders Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones and goalkeeper Sergio Romero. Neighbor City left him Eric Garcia.
Things seem clear, the young Spanish international defender, close to joining FC Barcelona, his training club, this summer, is no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s plans when he refuses to extend his contract which expires in June 2021. Finally, thoughts are the two young former Parisians, Antoine Bernède (Salzburg) and Tanguy Kouassi (Bayern Munich), who have not been registered by their respective clubs.
