Ghana coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has made five changes to his starting line up for the friendly match against Qatar on Monday.
In the goal posts, unattached goalkeeper Razak Abalora has been given the opportunity to start ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who kept the posts in Ghana’s 3-0 defeat to Mali last Friday.
In the right side of the defence will see newbie Benson Annan operating, while Gideon Mensah maintains his position for the left back role. In the absence of injured Nicholas Opoku, Alexander Djiku, who played in the midfield in Friday’s defeat against Mali, has been moved to partner Joseph Aidoo in the heart of defence.
In midfield, Baba Iddrisu replaces Bernard Mensah. Baba will partner Thomas Teye-Partey to provide cover for the back line.
Al Fayha FC’s Samuel Owusu also replaces Eugene Ansah on the right-wing of Ghana’s attack while Tarique Fosu operates on the left wing with Captain Andre Ayew playing in the hole behind striker Jordan Ayew.
The Black Stars hope to put up an improved display against the Asian champions as the two sides face off in an international friendly match this afternoon at 3pm (GMT).
