The FC Barcelona players didn’t really appreciate the latest request from the management… The latter did indeed call for further wage cuts (around 30%) members of the Blaugrana dressing room, in order to alleviate the financial crisis that the Iberian formation is going through. Dissatisfied, the players responded with an incendiary letter to Josep Mari Bartomeu, in which they expressed their anger at the methods used by the Barcelona general staff.
They did not, for example, appreciate the way the managers approached them, when most were in a selection, as they do not understand why the club is asking them for sacrifices after making several big investments in recent months. However, AS explains, three players did not sign this letter: Marc-André ter Stegen, Clément Lenglet, and Frenkie de Jong. In the case of the German, it is recalled that he is in the process of sealing an extension with the management, and this could be formalized within the week.
