Trouble looms for WBA super featherweight & lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident in South Baltimore around 1:53 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
According to police, a vehicle ran through a red light and struck another vehicle, then left the scene.
Baltimore Police arrived at the scene of a multi-car accident. They found several people suffering from minor injuries, one person was taken to an area hospital.
Police would not confirm if Davis was at the scene or driving the vehicle, but according to Dornu’s corner the source told CBS WJZ that, Davis was driving the car in question that allegedly ran the red light.
Last Saturday night at the Alamodome in Texas, Davis had the biggest night of his career when he knocked out Leo Santa Cruz in the sixth round. The contest, which headlined a Showtime pay-per-view card, saw Davis land a crushing uppercut to knock Santa Cruz out cold. Video clips of the knockout went viral on the internet, garnering millions of views.
The fight was Davis’ debut as a pay-per-view headliner, with sources indicating the event generated a better than expected buyrate.
