Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have arrived safely in Accra after their Champions League preliminary round match against Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou last Sunday.
The Porcupines arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in the nation’s capital on Monday afternoon. The two times champions of the CAF Champions League held the home side FC Nouadhibou to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at the Stade Cheikha Bodiya , Nouakchott.
Striker Osman Ibrahim put Asante Kotoko in front just five minutes into the first half, but the home side came from behind to equalize from the spot with what, according to Asante Kotoko, was a “BIZZARE!!” penalty award by the referee.
The reverse fixture comes off this weekend and Asante Kotoko are back in the country to begin preparations for the crucial game with all eyes on qualification to the next stage. FC Nouadhibou on the other hand, are currently on their way to Ghana for reverse fixture.
