Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan is on course to recovery as he prepares strongly for their Champions League match against Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman in Kumasi, ghanasportspage.com can firmly report.
Annan has been out of action for the Porcupine Warriors since November 22, when he sustained a muscle tear in his right thigh in the club’s 1-1 draw with Berekum Chelsea at the Berekum Golden City park on match day two of the ongoing Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Asante Kotoko skipper kept the posts in the said match till the 90th minute before picking that injury out of an aerial challenge, at a time when Kotoko were leading the score by a Kwame Opoku lone strike. He was replaced by Kwame Baah before the home side capitalised on a last gasp free kick at the edge of the box which was subsequently buried home by Emmanuel Clottey. The injury ruled Annan out of Asante Kotoko’s 2020/2021 Champions League opener against Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou away from home, which ended in 1-1 stalemate.
Ahead of Asante Kotoko’s next Champions League game against Sudanese side Al Hilal Omdurman this month, Annan has begun training at the gym already, keeping fit and stepping up his recovery rate to get himself ready for the continental game.
Annan started the gym works this week and is hopeful of joining the group for ball work by next week. Asante Kotoko next game is a GPL week match day three outstanding match against Accra Great Olympics, which has been scheduled for Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Accra sports stadium.
