Asante Kotoko have been granted all clear to play their Champions League matches at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium in Tamale, the capital of the northern part of Ghana.
The permission has been granted to Asante Kotoko by the continent’s football governing body, CAF, following an official request by the club to relocate their home ground to the Aliu Mahama stadium.

Asked whether Asante Kotoko has been granted the green light to relocate their continental matches to the Aliu Mahama sports stadium, Moses Antwi Benefo, Communications Director of Asante Kotoko responded “Yes”. Benefo also confirmed that the match will be played on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, which is two weeks from now.
Asante Kotoko last played at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium on October 29, 2017 during the MTN FA Cup final, when they defeated rivals Accra Hearts of Oak 3-1 to win their 9th FA Cup title.
