As part of the U-17 WAFU-B tournament, held in Lome, Togo and counting as qualifiers for the Total U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2021, CAF Organizing Committee for Youth Competitions decided at its meeting on 9 January 2021 to disqualify the U-17 team of Togo. The Cadet Hawks have fielded two players deemed ineligible based on MRI test results.
This decision is made in accordance with article 27.4 of the regulations of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations which stipulates that “if after having carried out the age eligibility test (MRI) for a participating team and a player s ‘is revealed ineligible, the participating team will be disqualified.”
The results of Togo matches are canceled. Togo, the host country of the qualifying tournament, had two victories from two games, 2-1 against Niger and 3-1 against Benin.
