Asante Kotoko combative midfielder Mudasiru Salifu returned to full training with the squad after being sidelined with a metatarsal bone injury sustained during the club’s preseason training.
Mudasiru suffered an injury during the club’s preseason tour at Koforidua in November, ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 football season. The midfielder was optimistic of featuring in the Asante Kotoko’s league opener against Eleven Wonders, but failed to recover before the start of the new season. On November 4, 2020, Asante Kotoko took to Twitter to announce his injury, wishing him a stronger return.
After two months of absence, Mudasiru returned to training on Wednesday morning where he joined the squad at the club’s Adako Jachie Training Grounds to prepare for match week nine trip to Sogakope to face WAFA in the ongoing premier league campaign.
The 23-year old midfield warrior has so far missed a total of 9 games this season in all competitions, 7 in the domestic league and two in the CAF Champions League against FC Nouadhibou of in Mauritania and Al Hilal Omdurman in Accra. His return obviously brings some sigh of relief to coach acting coach Johnson Smith for the club’s busy month of January.
In the Porcupine Warriors have games against WAFA, Abusua Dwarfs, Aduana Stars and Ashangi Gold Sporting Club.
