Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have written to the Ghana Football Association (GFC) in response to Players’ Status Committee’s (PSC) decisions on four cases concerning Asante Kotoko SC and four of its former players who summoned the club for alleged breach of contracts.
The GFA on Monday, January 25, 2021, forwarded to Asante Kotoko the ruling of the PSC on four separate petitions filed by the Asante Kotoko former players, Abass Mohammed, Mathew Kelvin Andoh, Stephen Tetteh Aryiku and Evans Owusu, who had all petitioned the PSC rule in their favour on the Club’s unilateral termination of their contracts. The quartet sought for the PSC to rule on the payment of their outstanding salaries and signing on fees, a case which the players eventually won according to the PSC’s ruling.
In a swift reaction, Asante Kotoko have responded to the matter in an official response letter addressed to the GFA, dated January 25, 2021, and signed by Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, Administrative and Operations Manager of the club.
In the letter, the Porcupine Warriors indicated a decision to appeal against all the four decisions of the PSC, but hints at possible loopholes in the GFA’s laws regarding the process for filing an appeal in such circumstances. Asante Kotoko have therefore pleaded with the to assist the club with “which specific laws of the GFA it should follow in filing the appeal”.
“Asante Kotoko SC respectfully wishes to file an appeal against all four (4) decisions and would therefore request your guidance as to which specific laws of the GFA it should follow in filing the appeal, especially with regard to the appeal fee and time stipulated by law in filing the appeal”, the letter read.
