Assistant Coach for Obuasi Ashanti Gold, Thomas Duah, has stated emphatically that the absence of Appiah Maccarthy will affect his side.
AshantiGold was handed a severe blow with star midfielder Appiah McCarthy facing an eight-week injury spell on the sidelines.
The free-kick expect suffered a ligament injury during matchday ten 5-2 defeat to Legon Cities FC.
The midfield dynamo has been one of the Black and Yellow top performing players in this season.
Reacting about the injury of the highly-rated midfielder on Opemsuo 104.7 FM evening Sports show, Pramaso, he said, “the injury of Maccarthy is really going to affect us following what he brings on board. He is one of our top performers in the team and even the league. He will surely be missed.”
The former Kotoko player who is now an Assistant Coach for AshantiGold further revealed that his side has not miss Latif Anabila, Mubarik Yussif and other players who left the team before the season.
“We have not missed any of the players who left us because we have got good replacement for them that is why we are performing in the league.”
