CAF CC: E.S Setif wins in Accra against Asante Kotoko and other results[Highlights]

Entente de Sétif managed to win away in the first leg of the Confederation Cup play-offs against Asante Kotoko.

Nabil Kouki’s player first conceded a goal in the 69th minute by Kwame Opoku but the little Sétifian nugget Amoura entered at the hour mark equalized with a superb diving header from the penalty spot on a center of Ghacha (73 ‘).

The Porcupine Warriors were undone by a Mohammed Kendouci 81st minute well-crafted strike in the first leg of the CAF Confederations cup-play off at the Accra sports stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors have presented the opportunity to level with the Algerian giants with a penalty which was missed by Naby Keita after the ES Setif were up by 2-1.

However, In the 13th minute, Fabio Gama had Kotoko’s first shot on target with his header which went straight into the hands of the Setif safest pair of hands (goalkeeper) Sefian Keidaila.

Naby Keita also got the chance to put Kotoko infront of the game in the 19th minute as his header missed the goalpost by few inches from a corner kick.

Kwame Poku was brought down in the penalty box of the Setifs in the 27th minute but the Cameroonian referee ignored calls for a penalty as being too soft.

Imoro Ibrahim’s long-range strike in the 43rd minute missed the ball by inches as Kotoko searched for an opener with just a few minutes to end the first half.

Just after the recess Asante Kotoko had a chance at goal but Fabio Gama missed his kick, which was later followed by the Emmanuel Sarkodie but his relentless efforts couldn’t trouble the Setif goalkeeper.

In the 69th minute, the Porcupines came up with a nicely worked goal by Kwame Poku which broke deadlock.

ES Setif gave a very quick response with Mohammed Amoura’s equaliser with a beautiful header into the net in the 73rd minute.
Setif got the important goal in the 81st minute from a counter-attack as Kendouci Mohammed made it 2-1 for the away side.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine warriors were awarded a penalty after the was adjudged to have hit the hand of one Setif defender.

Naby Keita’s spot-kick was saved by the Setif goalkeeper.
The Algerian giant held onto the lead till the referee’s final whistle.
