Asante Kotoko have announced a mid-season friendly match against a juvenile side on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Adako Jachie, the club’s training ground as part of their preparations ahead of the second round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League (GPL)
The match will be against Kumasi Ebony, a juvenile academy side in Kumasi. The Porcupines will engage the lower tier side in the friendly match which has been scheduled for Saturday at 9:00am prompt at the club’s usual Adako Jachie training grounds.
The ongoing GPL season is currently on recess after ending the first half of the season with 17 matches played out of the total of 34. The second round of the season will resume on Saturday, April 2, 2021 and Asante Kotoko stepping up preparations to keep the dream of ending their six seasons league trophy drought.
The Porcupine Warriors have, on Friday, announced a squad list of 29 players, featuring new recruits Stephen Sarfo Taylor, Francis Kumi, and Brazilian forward Michael Vinicius. The squad of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, eleven midfielders and six strikers are tasked to win the league title which has eluded Asante Kotoko for the past six seasons.
In the ongoing season, Asante Kotoko is currently sitting 4th on the league log with 27 points out of 16 matches with a game in hand. Aiyinase based Karela United currently lead the table with 31 points in 17 matches.
