The chairman of the Ashanti regional football association Osei Tutu Agyemang has said the topmost priority of the association is to provide the maximum for the young referees under the ‘catch them young’ project.
“The security of the kids are our priority, any club that will try to harass any of the referees will be dealt with”, he said in an interview with ghanasportspage.com after the presentation.
“The boys will be picked from the same communities so they know them and it wouldn’t be like they are from other communities and they are here to cheat us”, he added.
According to the experienced chairman, if such security measures are put in place at the early stage, the harassments of referees will be out of the system.
“If we are able to adopt such security measures from the juvenile stages, a time will come when there will be no beating or harassing referees will be a thing of the past”.
The RFA boss also stated that all district football associations are really to help promote this project and are also really to protect the boys.
“I think all the DFA’s are ready to protect the boys and also promote the project and I know all of them would be up and doing”.
