Black Princess Coach Yusuf Basigi has said his women’s premier league side Hasaacas Ladies are much prepared for the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Takoradi-based women’s premier team was given the nod to represent Ghana following their massive comeback win over Ampem Darkoa ladies in the normalization special women’s tournament organized two seasons back and coach Basigi believes his team is ready.
“Hasaacas Ladies are prepared for the task ahead and fortunately for us the domestic league is ongoing so it is also helping as preparatory rounds”, he said.
Speaking in an interview with ghanasportspage.com, the former Black Queens gaffer revealed there is a readiness in camp and all the ladies are well motivated.
“I can confidently tell you everyone in camp is ready for the tournament and very well motivated to make history for themselves and the country as well”,
The Hasmal trainer also added that team Hasaacas have what it takes to represent the country.
“We have all the needed experience ladies for the job because looking at team Hasaacas ladies, we have not less than fourteen national teams players and those who have also played in the world cup(s) so when it comes to playing outside, we know it better even though this is the maiden edition we would not be new to the terrain”, he added.
According to Coach Basigi, the management is trying their best to add more quality ones to strengthen the team.
“definitely when the window is opened, we will augment the team, I wouldn’t say because they are national team players, all is well in terms of player materials, at least we should have a good backup”,
“When you have good backups, that where you can boost of having a good team, if you have a good starting line up and have a weak backup then there is a problem”.
The maiden edition of CAF Women’s Champions League is likely to be played in groups (WAFU) in July and then play the champion of champions in October 2021.
