Asante Kotoko suffered a painful defeat to lower-tier side Benab FC in a training match at Adako Jachie on Tuesday.
Mariano Barreto’s men suffered a 1-2 loss to the lower division side as the Reds prepare ahead of their Ghana Premier League week 21 tie against Medeama on Saturday, April 24.
Banab struk first with just 6 minutes into the game and held onto the lead to complete the first department as the better side.
In the second half, Gama was illegally fouled in Benab’s box and as a result, awarded a penalty.
Martin Antwi who replaced Latif Anabila in the first half stepped up and did justice by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
The game continued to be even as both sides showed some good attacking football to win it.
Eventually, the visitors had the edge over Kotoko with a header from close range with 6 minutes left on the clock.
Benab were able to hold on to their lead this time to end the game as winners.
