Ghana premier league greats Accra Hearts of Oak has debunked the news that their Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV gave the players 800ghc each after they drew against Karela United last Sunday after their GPL matchday 21 game.
A statement signed by the club’s communications manager Kwame Opare Addo on Wednesday, April, 28th stated that the reportage is false.
“Report making rounds that our Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV has given each player 800ghc after drawing with Karela on Sunday is absolutely false and must be ignored”, the statement reads
The statement also emphatically stated that they (Hearts of Oak) do not ‘celebrate’ draws.
“We want to emphasize that, as a club we don’t “celebrate” draws. That’s ridiculous and self-demeaning”, they started.
“A promise was made for victory, but the players missed it”,
The statement also made an appeal to the media especially to desist from false publications about the club.
“We are appealing to all who wish to talk on issues of the club to cross-check their facts before publication and desist from fabricating stories concerning our club”, they added
