The communications director for Medeama SC, Patrick Akoto insists the club has enough depth in the squad to cope with the absence of the injured Justice Blay.
The 28-year old suffered a fractured fibula during Medeama’s 2-1 home victory over Legon Cities in the Ghana premier league and initial reports suggest the midfielder could be out for around two months at least.
The Mauve and Yellows later released a statement on April 18th confirming the extent of Justice Blay’s injury and the period he could miss.
While Akoto was keen to underline Blay’s importance to the team, He is confident the former FA Cup champions have enough quality in the squad to cope.
“In the absence of Blay, it is obvious that Medeama has quality. Our quality at the bench would help us to cope.”
Attacking midfielder Kwasi Donsu and Bernard Arthur maybe two players who could benefit from Justice Blay’s absence with some more game time. Akoto did not agree less.
“We have players like Kwasi Donsu, Bernard Arthur who was a kingpin for Elmina Sharks for four seasons and he’s at the bench, Ahmed Toure and Ebenezer Ackabi are all available to keep the standard.”
Meanwhile, the Tarkwa based club will continue their surge in the Ghana premier league as they host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Akoon Park.
