Struggling Elmina Sharks came from behind to beat high scoring Ashanti Gold SC on Sunday at the Ndoum Stadium.
The visitors in matchday 22 of the Ghana Premier League poised a big threat to Elmina Sharks as they were hoping to climb better on the league log. They began their fight for the three points right from the start of the game, creating some decent chances in the first twenty minutes.
But proficiency could not locate all their efforts at goal. Both teams displayed their level of works in the midfield, as they were not ready to throw in the midfield war for a lower price.
Hard tacklings were seen from the two teams with some caution given. The first half ended goalless with both teams ganging into the dressing room without happiness.
David Abagna after five minutes into the second half opened the scores with a fantastic strike to put the visitors upfront. It was game on for Elmina Sharks who were bent on avoiding relegation.
The Fearless Sharks made a comeback with two goals from Ishmael Hammond and Kingsley Braye. Hammond leveled scores on the 69th-minute mark to inspire the home side to a win.
The comeback was made on the 77th minute to propel Elmina Sharks’ season wins to seven. The win has moved Elmina Sharks to two place upfront (11th position) with 29 points.
