The Ghana Athletics Association hails the outstanding performance of the men’s 4×100m relay team at the 2021 World Relay in Silesia, Poland.
The relay team just made the country proud by qualifying to Tokyo Olympics.
” Ghana’s Athletics Association (GAA) wishes to thank our followers for their massive show of support for our 4×100m relay team that competed at the 2021 world relay in Silesia, Poland this weekend”, in a statement released to hail the Relay Team by GAA.
“Ghana Athletics association commence the men’s team for achieving historic automatic qualifications to both the Tokyo Olympics games and the 2022 world championship in the United States. In the words of one of the commentators, Ghana’s Relay team has “fired a warning shot to the rest of the world” Indeed, a less than one-meter infringement is all that prevented Ghana from earning its first-ever global medal in a relay event”, it stated.
The relaesa also talked about the fact that the women’s team paved way sometime back for this victory.
“To our women’s team, we say a big thank you for paving the way, indeed, it was your national record of 42.67 seconds set in cape coast in 2016 that paved way for a resurgence in relay performance at the continental and global levels, Aseda Nkoaa!”,
The Vice President of GAA Ababu Afelibiek who signed the statement also expressed gratitude to the many organizations and co-operate Ghana for their support.
“Ghana networks association would also like to thank the many organisations who made our national team’s trip to Poland possible the list include the US Embassy in Ghana, the Poland consulates in Washington DC, Houston TX and Los Angeles CA; world athletics the local organising committee (LOC) for the World Relays, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), the National Sports Authority (NSA), Coppin State University West Texas A&M University; Colby College; Syracuse University, Middle Tennessee State University, media establishment in Ghana and abroad, World’s Fastest Humans apparel, and indeed, all followers of Ghana Athletics at home and abroad”,
