Asante Kotoko superstar Mudasiru Salifu turned in a wonderful display last week in a 1-0 victory over Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium.
On Saturday afternoon, the Kotoko fan favourite topped that performance in the matchweek 23 premier league fixture against Dreams FC at the Len Clay Stadium.
Mudasiru was at his brilliant best once again in a 3-1 win for Kotoko, with the tireless midfielder playing a key role in midfield – brilliantly setting up Andy Kumi’s goal in the second half.
The 23-year-old is rightly praised to the rafters for his defensive nous and incredible stamina, but he’s also top-class in the final third these days.
Abdulai Ibrahim, Victor Oduro and later Michael Agbekpornu just could not live with Mudasiru’s penetrative runs from deep, while Dreams FC’s attack-minded players had to live off scraps due to the Kotoko man’s presence.
It was yet another complete midfield performance by a player who will righty go down as one of the finest to have kicked a football.
The award is the first for the midfielder who has been fantastic since his return from injury.
The win puts Kotoko on top of the league log with 41 points.
