Sellas Tetteh, technical Director for Liberty Professionals believe the result from their game against Asante Kotoko SC was a true reflection of what happened on the field.
Sellas admit his outfit worked hard against league leaders Asante Kotoko SC but that could not offer them the needed maximum three points after full time, having ended the game in a 1-1 draw.
The Scientific Soccer Lads who played better in both halves, still had their teeth crushing following few minutes dominance from Asante Kotoko SC. Liberty Professionals were denied a crucial win to move above the relegation zone as they got stunned at home.
Former Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Evans Owusu scored in the first half to hand Liberty Professionals the led, however, 83rd minute header from Ismail Ganiu ensured both teams share the spoils at the Sogakope park on Sunday.
Speaking at the post match, former Black Satellites trainer Sellas Tetteh believe his side worked hard for a win in their match day 25 fixture, however will continue to push extra hard in their remaining Ghana Premier League games.
“It was a clinical performance from both sides, we happened to take the lead and that created a lot of pressure on our opponent who later up their game quite clinical and it became a very difficult game, very balanced and eventually they [Asante Kotoko SC] got the equalizer”
“And when Asante Kotoko SC got the equalizer, my team raised their game, coming close for the winning goal but they couldn’t”
“The game itself, was very clinical and very interesting, development of football was a clear indication in the game. A draw is quite a respectable result, we were expecting to win but that will project us to the next matches”
“It’s difficult but we have to work towards it and prepare very well for subsequent matches, and hopefully things will work out for us”, he said.
Currently, Liberty Professionals sit 16th on the league table with 26 points after 25 league matches.
They will travel to Cape Coast to face Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs next week in their match day 26 clash as they hope to survive relegation this season.
