Asante Kotoko deputy captain, Emmanuel Gyamfi has extended his contract until 2022.
Management of the club on Monday, May 17, 2020, met Gyamfi and his agent with a one-year proposal after the player rejected an initial bid of 3 months, both parties after the meeting has agreed to a year contract extension and the 26-year-old has signed, the club has announced.
The former Wa All Stars player joined Kotoko in the second round of the 2016 season under coach Michael Osei who signed him on free transfer.
Gyamfi has since gone on to establish himself as a first-team player under several coaches like Zdravko Lugarusic, Steven Polack and Paa Kwesi Fabin, Maxwell Konadu, among others. The quick winger is hardly not in the Kotoko starting lineup since he joined.
The player was said to have been scouted by Ashantigold SC, Pyramid in Egypt and Kano Pillars in Nigeria but the former Ghana U20 star has renewed his contract with Kotoko until 2022.
Gyamfi has found the back of the net three times with three assists this season in the Premier League with two MVP awards.
