Asante Kotoko Head Coach, Mariano Barreto will today, 23rd May 2021 depart to his country Portugal and return on 27th May 2021 to continue his work, a club statement has confirmed.
The short trip is necessary to aid the former Black Stars coach to renew his UEFA Pro coaching license as the end of the football season in Portugal provides a short window for coaching license renewals.
In his absense, Assistant Coach Pedro Manuel will take charge of the team in preparation for the club’s game against Aduana Stars.
Barreto, since joining Kotoko has nine matches with the Porcupines, recording five wins and three draws and a defeat and are occupying the second spot on the league log with goals separating them from top spot Hearts of Oak.
