Former Chief Executive Officer of Hearts of Oak SC, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe is hopeful that the club can clinch the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title having taken the top spot.
The Continental Club Masters after 26 league games have gathered enough points to ascertain the top position of the Ghana Premier League with 46 points. Though they are joint top with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko SC due to goals difference they sit top.
Heats of Oak SC endured from the start of the season under Coach Edward Nii Odoom till he was demoted for Kosta Papic who also could not last for long due to interference in his work.
Ghanaian trainer Samuel Boadu was the last resort as the Phobians crapped him to lead the team.
Despite their poor start, Coach Samuel Boadu has transformed the team to record four consecutive wins in the ongoing campaign which has not happened for quite a long time.
Following their recent performance aiding them to the top position, Armstrong believes the team can clinch the ultimate title such as no retreat no surrender. However, caution them they should not be complacent with their current position.
“I believe all Phobians are revelling in the club’s ASCENSION to the summit of the Ghana Premier League. It certainly is a great feeling and I am so happy for our Glorious Club. I’m especially glad also for Togbe Afede XIV, our Board Chairman!!! It has been a most frustrating time for all Phobians and I congratulate Coach Boadu, the playing body, technical team, Management, Board and Chapters for the various roles all have played thus far”
“I have observed the calculations and projections for the remaining games flying all over social media. My dear Phobians, it is natural to get excited with our club in this position at this time of the season. It is certainly necessary that we be optimistic and positive about our chances of winning the league title for the first time in a little over a decade”
“No one can take that away from us”
But, I humbly call upon all of us NOT TO BE COMPLACENT. FOR IT IS NOT OVER UNTIL IT’S OVER AND WE HAVE WON.
“We might have had our issues and differed with each other on some matters relating to our club. But, at this point Victory in sight, I respectfully make this appeal:
That we all bury our differences and muster every resource we can to push our team over the finishing line and to the league title. For now, this should be our TOPMOST PRIORITY, MY BELOVED PHOBIANS!! WITH UNITY OF PURPOSE AND ONENESS OF HEART, WE CAN WIN THIS LEAGUE TITLE!!
NO RETREAT!!! NO SURRENDER, PHOBIANS!!!…Neil Armstrong wrote on his social media wall.
