Tough-talking General Manager of Ghana Premier League giants Aduana Stars, Takyi Arhin has sent a strong warning to Asante Kotoko ahead of matchweek 27 fixture.
Aduana Stars will welcome the Porcupines to the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa on Saturday and have made the Kumasi-based club aware of the danger ahead of them.
Matches between the two are often closely fought encounters with a certain difficulty in predicting which side emerges conqueror over the other but Kotoko are yet to pick a win at the Dormaa since Aduana joined the Ghanaina top-flight in the 2009/2010 season.
Asante Kotoko is in a rich vein of form under Mariano Barreto, occupying the second spot on the league log after 26 games.
For Aduana Stars, they have had a patchy run not befitting of a title contender. They have however worked around their form and are beginning to look like their former self.
Takyi Arhin, has, however, acknowledged their challenges but believes Aduana Stars are currently making steady progress in climbing out of their challenging beginning to the season.
Currently eighth on the league table, the Fire Boys could move up one place with a victory, just below the Porcupines.
“There’s nothing extraordinary, what you’ve been watching during our games will be the same, nothing is going to change,” he said in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
“If it will possible they stop coming, I would advise that but it’s unfortunate they can’t stop coming due to the laws of the game so they will come for the defeat”
“Anyone who has followed the Ghana league for long would know that, they (Kotoko) falter at anywhere Takyi Arhin is and the sad thing is, even when I wasn’t here (Aduana) they lose and me being here will be double jeopardy”
“History will repeat itself because even in their adopted home in Accra, we beat them and everyone dog’s strength lies in its house and the Nana Agyemang Badu park is a Waterloo for Kotoko”
In 26 league matches played so far this season, Aduana have won 11 matches, drawing six and losing the other nine games.
Their victories include a stunning 1-0 away triumph over Kotoko in the reverse fixture in matchweek 10.
The Dormaa-based side are determined to pick up three points to return to winning ways following a 2-0 away loss to Legon Cities.
