Asante Kotoko has been instructed by the Player Status Committee (PSC) to pay $30,000 ( 20%) to former midfielder Kwame Bonsu for failure to adhere to provisions in his contract with the Kumasi-based side.
Our checks indicate that the player received no contract fee when he joined the club but rather agreed to take 30% of any onward transfer to a different club.
This, Kotoko failed to honor their part of the bargain when the player was transferred to Esperance in 2019 under the Dr Kwame Kyei-led administration, thus the player resorting to the Player and coaches status committee.
However, the PSC have ruled that Kotoko should pay Kwame Bonsu (Conte) $30,000 and also a fine of Gh5000 for delaying the payment to the player.
In a related development, Club Consult Africa are also entitled to 20% of the transfer and are demanding such with Closemarking Consult who brokered the settlement between Kotoko and Esperance also in the court of law demanding their 20% share of the transfer from Asante Kotoko.
